This handpainted trinket or keepsake box is shaped like a decorated Christmas tree with presents beneath and a yellow star on top.
The history of the hinged box dates back to Limoges, France in the 1800's, when they were used for sending secret messages and love notes. Today they are great places to store a special piece of jewelry, or a precious baby keepsakes, and other valuables.
Dimensions: Box measures 3 1/4" high x 2 1/8" in diameter.
Marks/Dates: There is a gold "Limoges" with crossed swords and a crown on the inside bottom. This is not a Limoges mark. As cute as this is, it was made in China.
Condition: Excellent. Ready to use!
