This whimsical angel playing the harp creation was hand crafted in terra cotta (or terracotta) and glazed.
Dimensions: Measures 5" high.
Marks/Dates: c. late 1980's. The inside of the figure is stamped, and we've included a brochure on the artist, Ulrike (ULI) Groiss Hoopes.
Uli completed her apprenticeship under Leopold Anzenguber in Vienna, in 1968, and went on to pursue her love for clay. In 1986 she began creating whimsical, one-of-a-kind figures with terra cotta clay and an old, seldom used glazing technique, at her studio in Toano, VA.
Condition: No cracks, chips or other damage.
