Authorized Disney Bambi Planter - Leeds China Circa 40s

This authorized Bambi planter was produced by Leeds China and Copyrighted by Walt Disney Productions. It is a vintage Walt Disney collectible. Leeds Pottery in Chicago, Illinois was licensed by Walt Disney Productions to use their characters in pottery pieces. Leeds didn't actually manufacture the character items, they were a distributor. The pieces were produced by many different pottery companies of the time, including American Pottery, American Bisque, Regal China, and others. Reference "American Bisque Collector's Guide" by Mary Jane Giacomini, page 150

Bambi stands on the grass above 2 openings for plants but I rather doubt that this planter has ever seen any dirt. The interior shows no indication that the piece has ever been used. It is pictured in the Sterns Guide to Disney Collectibles.


Dimension(s): Approximately 9 1/2" long x 7" tall.

Mark: Bottom is marked Bambi and below that is the Copyright symbol and the words Walt Disney Prods. (I believe) it is very faint.

Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks or nicks. No scratches, no crazing; moderate wear to the base.

Manufacturing Imperfections: None
