This novelty, 3 piece salt and pepper shaker set features a farmer pushing a wheelbarrow that holds two barrels - salt and pepper shakers. Very cute vintage set and quite unusual. It would make a nice addition for a collector.

Dimensions: The farmer/wheelbarrow holder measures 6" long x 5" high. Each barrel measures 1 1/2" high.

Marks/Dates: Stamped on the bottom "Made in Japan - Pioneer Mdse Co NY." Pioneer Merchandise imported giftware from Japan in the late 1940's/early 1950's.

Condition: Ready to use. No cracks or chips. The back brim of the farmer's hat looks like it has a chip but it is under the glaze and may be part of his appearance. Some crazing common to vintage ceramics. Both barrels will need new cork stoppers.
