The design consists of an all over pattern of tiny daisies in yellow, orange and aqua blue. The exterior rim of the top is enhanced with gold. While the label indicated Hand Painted I tend to think this is a combination of a decal that has been enhanced with hand painted accents. The decoration is found on all 3 sides of the box and the lid.
It is in excellent condition with no damage. There are no cracks, nicks or chips; there is no crazing and the wear in minimal. The bottom has both the red Made in Japan Lefton label and a gold logo that reads Lefton China Hand Painted 1902.
