This Sebastian miniature of King Henry VIII in his regal robes is from the Shakespeare Series. There were several issues of this miniature but this particular piece was issued for the Sebastian Collectors Society.
Sebastian Miniatures was started in Massachusetts in 1945, by Prescott W. Baston. Their hand-cast and hand-painted pieces are prized by Sebastian Miniature collectors.
Dates/Marks: #SML-73B - Introduced in 1983 and discontinued in 1984 with 4,578 produced. The top of the base reads "Henry VIII," and the side is inscribed "Sebastian Collectors Society" and "copr 1983 P.W. Baston." Hand signed in pencil on the bottom, along with a gray Hudson sticker.
Condition: No chips or cracks. Displayed in a glass cabinet.
